Morendat Institute of Oil & Gas (MIOG) is located 12 kilometres from Naivasha town and 3.42 kilometres along North Lake Road off the busy Nairobi-Nakuru highway.

The Institute offers oil & gas related courses approved by Technical, Vocational Education & Training Authority (TVETA). The curricula used was developed in line with the Competency Based Education and Training (CBET) and approved by Technical, Vocational Education Training Curriculum Development Accreditation and Certification Council (TVETCDACC).

Kenya Pipeline Co. Ltd (KPC) established MIOG out of the companies’ vast experience in oil & gas matters. KPCs infrastructure therefore provide an excellent platform for practical experience for students. The trainers are also sourced from the most experienced members of staff.

Students are provided with free transport from Naivasha town to the Institute and back. Others privileges are meals (lunch and two teas) and writing materials.

The serenity of the location makes it ideal for learning.

TVETA is a State Corporation established under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Act, 2013 that was Publicized in a Special Issue of the Kenya Gazette Supplement No. 44 (Acts No. 29) on 25th January 2013 and commenced on 24th June 2013. The TVET Authority Board was appointed on 9th May 2014 through a Gazette Notice No. 3134 and inaugurated on 4th June 2014. The mandate of the Authority is to regulate TVET sector through Licensing, Registration and Accreditation of institutions, programs and trainers.

 

TVET CDACC The Technical Vocational Education and Training Curriculum Development Assessment and Certification Council (TVET CDACC) is a State Corporation established under the TVET Act No. 29 of 2013 to undertake design and development of curricula for training institutions, assessment and competence certification hence promote access, equity, quality and relevance of TVET system.
